Marcell Ozuna, Braves left fielder was captured early Friday morning for DUI.
It was the second capture in as numerous years for Ozuna. On charges of aggravated assault by strangulation and battery He was captured on May 29, 2021. Cops said they saw him going after his better half. After he finished a pretrial diversion program those charges were dropped.
“I disappointed my team and I disappointed my family,” Ozuna said. “I don’t have anything to say more. It’s a legal matter.”
“The Atlanta Braves are aware of Marcell Ozuna’s arrest this morning and are still gathering all the facts pertaining to the incident. Our organization takes these matters very seriously and are obviously disappointed by the situation. As this is a legal matter, we will have no further comment until the process is complete.” The Braves issued this statement after the arrest.
This season, Ozuna has filled in as the club’s essential hitter, batting .214 with 20 home runs. $65 million four-year agreement with Atlanta back in February 2021 was signed by Ozuna. He is as yet owed around $41 million. In light of the charges, Ozuna was put on administrative leave for the last 20 rounds of the 2021 season. He got back to play with the Braves for the ’22 season.
